We would all like to wish on a shooting star, rub the magical belly of Buddha, lucky rabbit’s foot, or say a prayer to God, and believe that all our dreams will magically come true, but the harsh reality is that , rarely, if ever.
The Quakers had a saying: “While you pray, move your feet.” Which means don’t just make a request and wait for a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Make your request to God, Allah, the universe of course it does, but act to make it come true, because in essence, God can do more through you than He can do for you.
(For the sake of this article we will use God), as an example, praying to God to win the publishers’ clearinghouse and then never entering it, is a clear case of praying and not moving your feet. It just won’t happen. We are often lazy in our requests to God and expect miracles with little or no effort on our part. If we are seriously committed to a desire and / or goal, stay focused, stay on track and God will lead the way to your destination, but God has to do it through us.
Think about the times in your life when your greatest achievements or wishes came true. Did it happen out of nowhere or were you so focused on wanting that thing in your life that nothing was going to stop you? I bet you kept your eye on the prize, not letting anything distract you, and gave that target your undivided attention, didn’t you?
This is an excellent example of God opening and clearing the path of success for you. Thought, word and deed. Thought = what you wanted. Word = Your expression of that thought to God. Deed = Move the feet in action towards the desired goal.
It is a powerful and unstoppable combination for success. If you are struggling to achieve your goals or to have your prayer answered the way you would like it to, rate your level of commitment. If you approach your prayers with undeniable faith, along with action, the path will become clear and you will achieve more and more in your life.
Remember, thought, word, and deed, and let God work through you to fulfill your greatest desires. God be with you, for your success,
