As China battles sandstorms in its northern regions, the United States of America is preparing with FEMA to battle a different kind of storm in the 2006 Atlantic tropical hurricane season, providing a long list of names to be will use during the season.
The latest massive sandstorm in China left Beijing in a cloud of dust for many days and they are still cleaning up the mess. In fact, they had seeded the clouds for it to rain, but do we know what water and dust do? In fact, there was mud everywhere, while the air quality was said to be the worst in several decades.
Every year, the desert approaches China’s capital city and is predicted to eventually take over and even bury the city under sand forever. Which makes an archaeologist wonder how many of Earth’s major civilizations were also buried under layers of sand perhaps a mile thick.
Is Mother Nature trying to tell China to clean up its environmental act or will it bury it under miles and layers of sand? Meanwhile the affected cities are; “Tianjin port city, parts of Inner Mongolia, as well as Gansu, Ningxia, Shaanxi, Shanxi and Hebei provinces,” officials said. In fact, they will expect very strong hurricane force winds to continue for many days. Consider this in 2006 and be thankful that our hurricanes don’t come with a sandblasting feature.
