I have been submitting articles to the web for almost 5 years now, and this has resulted in a huge increase in targeted traffic to my website. This increase is due to the fact that visitors to my site have searched for the same keywords as the topics covered in the articles I write. Also, my articles were published in ezines that have many subscribers, which allowed me to build a huge subscription list. How to write an article that will improve traffic to your site? Here are 6 strategies that I apply with success.
Writing a great title is the key
Writing a great headline is the key to generating readership. Most of my articles are “How To” articles, or articles that contain hints and tips that solve a given problem. For example: “Top 5 tips…”, “3 secrets to…”, or “5 mistakes to avoid when…”. The generic formula I use is to write a headline that addresses a specific problem readers may have.
Short but high value items
I prefer to write short but high-quality articles. My research has shown that most articles that are between 350 and 600 words, with an optimal length of 700 words, perform best. Most of my articles contain 400-600 words.
short paragraphs
You write for the Web, so your paragraphs should not exceed 3-5 sentences each, and your sentences should be simple. Please note that screen reading is 20% slower than print reading. This means that eye stress is different depending on the environment. Separate your article into numbered bullet points for easy reading and understanding.
incorporate keywords
To drive more traffic from your articles, you need to include keywords in the title and body of your article that you want to be found with. To maximize the effectiveness of the article, you should use the same keyword 3-7 times in the content of the article.
Introduction, middle and end.
You should start your article with an introductory paragraph to tell readers what they will find in your article, the article with the content, and finally a conclusion that summarizes what you said in the article. If you write article cheats with numbered points like I do, it’s important to conclude with a paragraph summarizing the content of the article, rather than ending with your latest cheat. In fact, many articles from directory editors refuse to publish it because they consider it incomplete.
Limit your URLs.
Most article publishers refuse to index your article if it contains more than 3 links. The strictest ones refuse to publish any article that contains affiliate links or links to your site, if they are placed in the body of the article. Be sure to put your website links in the bio box for that purpose.
