Movement is a part of human history, a big part of human life, and there is no reason for it to stop. With the rapidly developing society, we find more and more ways to make our life easier, and when it comes to moving, we make a special moving checklist and choose the most suitable service from the wide variety that exists.
Here is a brief description of each of them.
Moving Checklist #1. home removals
The most used: It is the whole process of loading all your furniture and items in a van, transporting them and unloading them in the new place. It is a door to door service. It can include something extra, like packing and garbage disposal (every household finds items they no longer need).
The service can be arranged from A to Z by the company, or you can book just the transport vehicle. The company usually comes a few days in advance to take a look at the items and decide how many people are needed.
They take into account the accessibility of the place, or if it is necessary to carry certain elements through the windows, if they cannot go through the stairs.
A special note if the items also include a piano. Sometimes it is necessary to disassemble the furniture.
Moving Checklist #two. student movement
This is a small magnitude movement aimed at students. It always has low prices and usually includes a man with a truck; basically it is help to transport the items, load and unload.
Also, door to door service. You have the possibility to go to two separate addresses to be able to split the cost.
Moving Checklist #3. International Moving
Move to another country. Only specially registered companies can do this: they are licensed to appear at customs, along with the documents of the tenants (if they are present in the van). The costs are much higher and can grow a lot if they have to change vehicles when they go abroad.
The service includes door to door service, loading and unloading of items, furniture disassembly if necessary.
Moving Checklist #4. Man and Van Services / Light Man with Van
A man and van service is like a student mover: it provides a man with a van and strong arms to help transport items. You usually get this if you book a local company, which operates only in the area and is a transfer to somewhere not too far within the city limits.
Booking hours are flexible for this service, it is safe and fully insured.
However, unlike the student move, the prices are not low. I guess that’s how they do business. You just have to know what to book.
Moving Checklist #5. Art/antique transportation and business moves
This is a specialized moving service for offices, galleries and museums. It usually includes specific packaging of different sculptures and art. It is fully insured and safe. Delivery is always door to door.
Moving Checklist #6. Delivery of boxes and packaging
Each moving company can pack each item in the safest and most professional way, promising zero damage, even on fragile items such as lamps, fish tanks, valuable ceramics and others. As a customer, you can always inform that you want to pack the valuable china yourself, but then you have to sign a document in case it is broken during transportation. After all, you can’t blame the mover for something that was your fault.
Companies always supply the necessary packaging materials, such as bubble wrap, cabinets, clear plastic, boxes.
Sometimes a client just wants to pack up and not move (i.e. they will use their own vehicles). In these cases, you can hire the packaging service or just the boxes.
You can also rent the boxes, if you wish. An ecological move, with recyclable material, is fine, but you will have to make sure to return it in an adequate state, without cracks or breaks, dry.
Moving Checklist #7. Storage
Very often, after packing all your belongings, you realize that there are many items that you would prefer not to take with you, but that you would not want to throw away either. The only solution to this dilemma is to reserve a warehouse for a certain period of time.
The service includes transportation and occupancy of your store location for the period you have specified. The service is safe and secure, like all the previous ones. The furniture can be disassembled and then assembled, according to your requirements.
Please note, however, that if the storage period expires and the company cannot contact you within a week, they will sell your belongings and vacate the warehouse.
Moving Checklist #8. IKEA (eBay) – Pickup / Delivery + Assembly
After buying things on eBay or IKEA, you can hire the mover to deliver the items to your doorstep. The service includes the loading, transport and unloading of the item, including assembly at your home. Hours are flexible and the company provides all professional assembly tools.
Moving Checklist #9. Furniture assembly
Furniture disassembly and assembly alone can be a separate service, depending on your needs. The tools are provided by the moving technicians and the work area will be cleaned afterwards.
Moving Checklist #10. house clearance
House cleaning is pretty much what it sounds like: getting all the items out of the house. And that’s it. They can be disposed of or simply placed on the patio.
Moving Checklist #eleven. garbage removal
Every time a person wants to move, they realize how many unnecessary items they have. It usually comes about simply because they don’t want to carry as much of a load, so getting rid of stuff is as liberating as it sounds.
A garbage collection service will remove unnecessary garbage and send it to a recycling factory if it is recyclable.
Moving Checklist #12. End of Lease/Pre-Lease Cleaning
Before the move, there is always a need to clean the old place, especially if it was rented. The end-of-lease cleaning service includes a deep cleaning of the walls, floors (carpet), windows, and all other nooks and crannies.
The same thing happens when entering the new place. No one wants to walk into a dirty home, so pre-leasing cleaning will take care of that.
