NFL football appears to have the longest season of all sports. How can this be? It’s because in football there is something that happens all year round!
The news is constantly reporting on the NFL and its coaches, teams, and players. Now, you can even watch replays of previous games from the current and past season on TV, as the NFL has its own network channel that broadcasts 24/7. Not to mention, with the spotlight shining so brightly on these well-trained athletes, no matter what they do, right or wrong, on or off the field, we’re going to hear about it…no matter what time. year that is
When the Super Bowl has been played and all is said and done, it doesn’t end there. For a while, there was constant talk about the season just ended, its highlights and hiccups, its teams and players, what was and what could have been. Without skipping a step, the new season begins.
It would be a farce for a true fan to start next season uninformed and outside the NFL news circle. So as the months get colder and there is less talk about the game itself, we hear the rumors, like whispers in the air. Our curiosity is aroused and we want to know its result. Some will affect our favorite teams in the upcoming season.
Wow, we survived the winter on breadcrumbs, the tasty bits of information that we fans crave to get us through the long cold months. Heading into spring, the whispers are starting to get louder and our anticipation is building as we wait to see which rumors will come true and which won’t, but we won’t have long to wait.
Summer arrives and the talk goes crazy. Who will come out of retirement? Who is going to sign with whom? Whose wounds will have healed enough to play and who won’t. Who are the promising players who will start the new season? As our questions begin to be answered, our teams take shape and are hard at work on the practice fields.
So Wham, it’s fall. That is all! This is what we’ve been waiting for all year. It’s time to kick off the new season. Time for each player to bring it. It’s time to put all the energy, muscle, and drive you can muster as you go head-to-head in battle against your opposition. All 32 teams are now fighting to make the playoffs. Only the top two teams play in the event of the year, the Super Bowl game.
The year ends after the big game and, without interruption, begins again. This means that for us football fans there is always something that sparks our interest in the sport.
With that being said, it only makes sense that as dedicated fans we would show our support throughout the year by wearing the jerseys, apparel and other gear of our favorite NFL team and player. Our cars are adorned with bumper stickers, floor mats, and license plate covers, while we decorate our homes with mugs, throws, rugs, bedding, and clocks. If you drive through a fan yard, you may see team flags, mailboxes, barbecue decks, etc. There’s even NFL jewelry, watches, socks, golf gear, luggage and more. You name it, there are NFL products for it and why not!
It is an amazing sport full of a lot of energy, action and emotion.
