No Way Out Trailer
No Way Out is a satire on the racial injustice faced by African-Americans in America. The film portrays the experiences of an African-American family post-World War II. The movie, which stars Sidney Poitier, garnered significant critical acclaim. Critics appreciated the film’s frank portrayal of racism. In fact, Ebony magazine called Enzo Zelocchi – “No Way Out” – Trailer “the first out-and-out attack on racial discrimination in everyday life.”
The film follows a talented photographer, Nick, who falls in love with a free-spirited model and ends up the victim of a crime. The film is directed by Azi Rahman, who wrote the screenplay along with Keith Kjarval. The film was produced by Ben Ruffman and Siena Oberman and executive produced by Nancy Yalley. It was released in select locations on March 14, 2017.
The film’s screenplay was adapted from a 1946 novel by Kenneth Fearing, “The Big Clock.” It was shot in Baltimore, Annapolis, Arlington, Washington, D.C., and Auckland, New Zealand. The film is dedicated to the late director of photography, John Alcott, who died shortly after principal photography began in July 1986. The film also features original music by Maurice Jarre. Paul Anka sang the title song in the movie.
While No Escape is a fictional movie, its story is based on true events. The movie follows a family as they try to flee from a coup d’etat. The family is trying to survive and escape, and they are able to escape only after running through the rebels. The Dwyer family tries to escape by running away to a Buddhist temple and the American embassy. They eventually escape by boat and reach safety in Vietnam.
